Making Colourful Water

Today we made colourful water.  First we got a plastic plate.  Then we mixed some Smarties and Skittles together.  We put them on a plate around the outside.  Then the teacher put some water in.

Today we did an experiment with Skittles and M&M's, water and a plate.
First we put the Skittles around the plate.  Then we poured the water in the plate and then we waited until, suddenly, the colours were blending together.  It was the rainbow colours and it was dissolving.
We did it with our class at school.
It was going brown and was mixing and the Skittles were disappearing, the Skittles were getting whiter.  It was getting smaller.

Swimming with LIfe Jackets

Today, the Room 10 children were given the chance to use life jackets in the swimming pool.

Each child who was swimming, was fitted with a life jacket.  They then jumped in the deep end of the pool, rolled over onto their backs and kicked the length of the pool.

Once at the end, they were asked to join up with other children (arms around neck) and kick on their backs to the other end.

They really enjoyed it and were surprised by how easy it was to float wearing a life jacket.
