Collage Box

In Room 10, we have been using our collage box when illustrating our poems.
In our collage box, we have lots of rubbers, paper, straw, art supplies, small toys, letters and numbers, straws, fabric and other bits and pieces.
We are not allowed to glue anything on to paper.  We make our collage, take a photo then put everything back in the box.

Sandcastle Competition

During our beach education trip, the children had the chance to build sandcastles using anything they could find on the beach.  There were some fantastic creations.

Room 10 Beach Education

The Room 10 children and helpers had a wonderful day at Waimairi Beach today.  The weather was warm with a slight breeze and the water was not as cold as we thought it would be.

We spent the morning in the Surf Life Saving Club House learning about being Sun Smart, beach safety rules and how to identify a rip in the sea.

We then played games in the sand and built sandcastles. After lunch and playing on the playground, we all got into the water and either swam or used boogie boards.

It was a really interesting and fun day.  Some of us will be very tired tonight!

The Room 10 children have had lots of fun exploring the story of the Little Red Hen for storytelling.

We have heard, mapped, retold and written the story. These photos show some of the children acting out the main parts in small groups.
